21st Annual Pastel 100 Competition


I am excited to share with you that I have won an Honorable Mention in the Still Life category of the 21st Annual Pastel 100 with my pastel “Back in Time”!! Many thanks to the judge Kathy Hildebrandt! Of the 1500 paintings submitted, only 100 were chosen! Congratulations to all winners! PSWC 33rd Annual Pastels USA International Exhibition at Haggin Museum

Richeson75 Figure/Portrait 2018

Awesome news via email! My pastel “Demetrios”, 12x10” has been selected as finalist in the 2018 Richeson75 Figure/Portrait exhibit. Also, my pastels “Another Day in the Office” 12x10 and "Sweet Sofie" 18x12" have been recognized as having artistic merit and they will be included in the exhibit book as Meritorious Entries. The exhibit will be held at the Richeson School of Art & Gallery in Kimberly, Wisconsin from October 25 to December 9, 2018. The online exhibit will go live October 25, 2018.

Richeson75 Small Works 2018 Finalist.

I am so happy to learn that my paintings, "Shipwreck II" and "Who Lost His Marbles" have been accepted in Richeson75 Small Works 2018 exhibition. These two pieces will be flying off to the Richeson School of Art & Gallery in Kimberly, WI shortly. The show hangs from February 22 to April 7. An online show and beautiful hardcover exhibit book are part of this event. My painting "Sweet Colors of Summer" will be included in the exhibit book as Meritorious Entry.

"Refugee"

Having to flee your home because of violence is a traumatic experience. Life is so hard for all these people and you can see the pain in their eyes. I tried to capture this pain but also the gaze of hope for a better future.
