Richeson75 Figure/Portrait 2018

Awesome news via email! My pastel “Demetrios”, 12x10” has been selected as finalist in the 2018 Richeson75 Figure/Portrait exhibit. Also, my pastels “Another Day in the Office” 12x10 and "Sweet Sofie" 18x12" have been recognized as having artistic merit and they will be included in the exhibit book as Meritorious Entries. The exhibit will be held at the Richeson School of Art & Gallery in Kimberly, Wisconsin from October 25 to December 9, 2018. The online exhibit will go live October 25, 2018.

3rd China (Suzhou) Biennial International Pastel Exhibition

After having been held at Chinese customs for a few days, my painting “Refugee” has arrived safe and sound at the Ming Gallery of Art for the 3rd China (Suzhou) Biennial International Pastel Exhibition! I would like to thank judges Li Siaolin, Du Guohao and Shi Tao for accepting my work!! Congratulations to all accepted artists! I feel honored being one of 33 international artists accepted to join 67 Chinese artists for this long exhibition that opens on October 1st and will run through November 5th. From there, it will continue at various galleries in China until October 1st, 2019!! My thanks to the organizers of the exhibition for making this sharing around the world possible and to Ming Gallery of Art for focusing on introducing pastels to Chinese art collectors.

Pure Color 2018

I am thrilled and honored to have received notification that I have had three paintings juried into the Pastel Society of North Carolina's Pure Color 2018 Exhibition. Of the 832 paintings submitted, only 150 were chosen by Jen Evenhus, Master Pastelist , to be in the show. I thank her sincerely for choosing my work for inclusion!! "Refugee"


 19,5x16" Soft Pastel and Pastel Pencils on Pastelmat.

Having to flee your home because of violence is a traumatic experience. Life is so hard for all these people and you can see the pain in their eyes. I tried to capture this pain but also the gaze of hope for a better future.
